COFIA Farming

Agriculture is the backbone of rural livelihoods in Uganda, yet many smallholder farmers struggle with low yields, poor market access, and unpredictable climates. COFIA Farming addresses these challenges head-on by equipping farmers with the tools, knowledge, and resources to transition from subsistence farming to sustainable, market-oriented agriculture.”

Our Key Initiatives

Through COFIA Farming, we partner with smallholder farmers to create lasting change. Our programs focus on improving productivity, enhancing food security, and boosting household income. By introducing climate-resilient practices, modern farming techniques, and access to quality inputs, we empower farmers to thrive.

COFIA Demonstration Farm and Learning Center

At the heart of our efforts is the COFIA Demonstration Farm, a hub for hands-on training in advanced farming techniques. Here, farmers learn sustainable practices such as crop rotation, integrated pest management, and soil health improvement, equipping them to apply these methods on their own farms.

COFIA Farming Collective

We believe in the power of collective action. The Farming Collective brings together smallholder farmers to share resources, pool knowledge, and gain better access to markets. Together, they achieve economies of scale and increase their bargaining power.

COFIA Champion Farmers

Our Champion Farmers program identifies and supports exemplary farmers who become role models in their communities. These farmers lead by example, mentoring others and demonstrating the impact of sustainable practices.

COFIA Annual Grassroots Agricultural Exposition

Our annual exposition is a celebration of innovation and progress. Farmers come together to showcase their successes, learn from experts, and explore new technologies that can transform their farms.
Our Impact

Why COFIA Farming Matters

Increased Productivity

Farmers report yield increases of up to 50% after adopting COFIA Farming practices.

Improved Food Security

Communities experience greater food availability and diversity, reducing hunger and malnutrition.

Boosted Income

Participating farmers see household incomes rise as they transition to market-oriented farming.

Farming That Feeds Futures

Food insecurity keeps many children from reaching their full potential. At COFIA, we know that when mothers harvest more, children eat better and futures shift.

Through our farming programs, families gain the knowledge and tools to increase their harvests, improve household nutrition, and reduce hunger.

And when hunger no longer writes the story, kids write their own. With energy to play, strength to grow, and smiles that speak of hope.
